fixing my Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 speakers
My Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 speakers has this issue that created a HUGE rats nest of wires for a workaround. The input for "center/sub" is bad and requires it to be half way unplugged to work. Well at some point it stopped working completly. The workaround was the split the cable, and have the center channel go to another set of cheap speakers. We'll it's time to redo the desk arrangement upstairs and I'm sick of it. We have a Logitech 5.1 system laying around and figured its time to just install it in its place. But wait... 7.1 > 5.1! Been doing alot of board related things lately and figured I might as well take a look at it. Damit.
wtf is this thing?! Is this normal? I mistakenly thought this was orange:TRS and grey TRRS but that is not the case. The reason I thought that was because it came with a cable for the sound card side that was arranged that way. Why? because the soundblaster card at the time was arranged that way. so stupid!
Anyways. This looks like it might be difficult to find a replacement. I asked about this on stack https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/588212/identifying-and-replacing-stacking-trs-jack
Update:
I took off the shroud behind it and it says "TC F"
Update:
LOL! who cares! I forgot the whole problem was that the center channel was scratchy! Also some of the jacks dont quite work unless it is slightly out.
